Balluff BIS M Series — High Frequency Industrial RFID System | HighTtransmission Speed for Large Volumes of Data:
The BIS M system uses a High Frequency or HF 13.56 MHz inductively coupled technology along with passive tags to provide mid-range RFID solutions as far as 400 mm. This system is ideal for closer range asset tracking, WIP (work in process) or production control such as palletized production or "on part" tracking and quality traceability applications. This system also offers high temperature, metal mount, hardened and disposable tagging options. Ideal for work in process (WIP) applications, the BIS M system is built to withstand the rigors of the manufacturing world. With tags built to survive temperatures of up to 220°C and systems capable of processing massive amounts of data quickly, chances are good that the M system will exceed most requirements for your data collection needs.
The RFID system BIS M supports global ISO standards and scores with a high transmission speed for large volumes of data. Through various combination options of data carriers and read/write heads, the system can be used for a variety of applications. The system is ideal, for example, in close-range parts tracking or for applications in production control such as palletizing or recording data on the workpiece. The main areas of application for the BIS M include internal company logistics, access control and copy protection. BIS M uses the high frequency (HF) 13.56 MHz and supports the standard according to DIN ISO 15693. The processor units process the data captured by the read heads and relay it to the industrial fieldbus, which communicates with the PLC/PC. With type BIS V processor units, you can operate up to four read heads at once – regardless of whether they are LF, HF or UHF.

Read/write heads with integrated processor unit are the mediators between data carrier and PC or the controller. Benefit to you: because antenna, electronics and interface are located in one housing, an additional processor unit is eliminated. In addition, easy integration saves on installation expense. Variants with separate electronics are also suitable for tight installation conditions and provide leeway during the installation.
